Exciting news! Harleysville National Corporation and Willow Financial Bancorp, Inc., jointly announced on May 21 that they have reached a definitive agreement for Willow Financial Bancorp to merge with and into HNC.
This merger will create the third-largest banking company based in the Philadelphia area. Harleysville National Bank and it's East Penn Bank division will have a combined total of 84 branches in Eastern Pennsylvania. The merger will significantly increase Harleysville's presence in Chester County, and throughout the suburban Philadelphia region. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter 2008, pending regulatory and shareholder approval.
