HNB and EPB Introduce New Service for Business Customers
Dishonored Check Collection Service Helps Businesses in a Trying Economic Climate

Deb Takes, President and Chief Executive Officer of Harleysville National Bank (HNB) along with Brent L. Peters, President of East Penn Bank (EPB) announced that the banks have joined with IBG/FARS to implement a dishonored check collection system for the benefit of their business banking customers.

“We recognize that a business owner’s primary focus should be on the day-to-day operations of his or her company,” Takes explained. “Their time shouldn’t have to be invested trying to collect on dishonored checks which have been presented to them.”

The program will handle the collection process for HNB/EPB business customers.

The collection process invokes the use of proprietary Electronic Check Recovery (ECR) technology, which improves the collection rate of bad checks written to area businesses. “Not only does the collection rate increase,” Takes said, “but it decreases the time, money and effort business owners must allocate to recover bad check debts.”

Business owners interested in learning more about HNB/ EPB’s Electronic Check Recovery program and its potential impact on their business may contact the banks at (888) 462-2100 or visit their local branch.

“We welcome yet another opportunity to provide better banking for our customers,” Takes noted. “IBG/FARS will have a substantial, positive effect on many businesses in our community.”
